The History of
The Crossroads Initiative
History of Crossroads Productions: In the late seventies, two former professional rock musicians, George Misulia and Marcellino D’Ambrosio, had a spiritual awakening and began to use their communication skills to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. There they began their work in Christian radio broadcasting by being the regular musical guests on a daily half-hour show broadcast from Providence, RI called the “Spirit and the Word” hosted by Rev. John Randall. Moving to Baltimore in the early eighties, the pair became regulars on a local radio talk show called “Common Ground” and founded a Christian Music Group called Crossroads that went on to travel around the USA ministering to teens and adults through music, prayer and inspirational speaking. Incorporating in Maryland as a 501 (c)(3) public charity in 1988, Crossroads went on to do regular national TV work with the Eternal Word Television Network (cable and satellite) and record seven albums of Christian music. In the nineties, Marcellino earned his Ph.D. in Theology from the Catholic University of America and shifted his focus more to teaching and preaching through regular appearances on the Eternal Word Television Network and WEWN, the network’s sister radio-shortwave network. Since founding the Texas office of Crossroads Productions in 1994, Marcellino has recorded numerous audio and video tapes of his teaching and is a frequent guest on the syndicated call-in radio show called “Catholic Answers Live” and has contributed regularly to several publications most especially Our Sunday Visitor. George Misulia, leading the original Maryland office of Crossroads, has focused on using music to communicate the gospel creatively to teens and adults in the Baltimore-Washington area and all throughout the USA.
The Crossroads Music Project (Maryland) The Crossroads Music Project, led by George Misulia, offers services and products that employ music as a means to lift hearts and minds to God. George is a gifted composer of contemporary Christian worship music. Given George’s two masters degrees in theology and scripture, his uplifting, easy-to-sing compositions have profound theological depth and appeal to teens and adults alike. The services provided by the Music Project range from the training of teen and adult music leaders in Catholic parishes to leading music groups at large events such as conferences. George also serves as a consultant to parishes that wish implement spiritual renewal and evangelization programs more effectively into parish life. The products developed by Crossroads Music Project are recordings and sheet music of songs composed by George as well as the innovative “My Guardian Angel” project which teaches small children to develop a trusting and intimate personal relationship with God through a special CD of music packaged with a guardian angel doll. George is currently working on “Operation Let the Fire Fall” to develop worship music mp3’s that can be used in the field to enhance prayer services led by US military chaplains and lay chaplain assistants overseas.
