by Fr. Mitch Pacwa and Daniel Ali

In Islam and Christianity, a five-part video series, Fr. Mitch Pacwa, S.J. and Daniel Ali give a comprehensive introduction to Islam, presenting the fundamentals of the faith from a Muslim perspective. They explain Islamic beliefs as well as the Koran and Mohammed's Tradition in order to help Christians dialogue with their Muslim friends in a respectful though informed manner. They also cover the do's and don'ts for Christians when speaking with Muslims about their Islamic faith and comparing that faith to Christianity.

Overview of Islam & Christianity

by Fr. Mitch Pacwa and Daniel Ali

SYNOPSIS:

Islam and Christianity is a unique video series that teaches Christians HOW to Evangelize Muslims. Our hope is that it will become the unprecedented MODEL for all Christians of all denominations across the world to bring Muslims to Christ.

HOW will this be done?

Both in VHS and DVD formats, Islam and Christianity teaches the Fundamentals of the Islamic Faith including the Muslim attitude towards Christ.  The goal of Fr. Pacwa and Daniel Ali in developing this series is to show the Christian HOW to effectively introduce the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ to his Muslim brother.

WHY Now?

V      Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. The number of Muslims in the world is increasing faster than the world population itself.

V      In the United States there are now about as many Muslims as there are Jews — and more Muslims than either Presbyterians or Episcopalians.

V      After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Muslim groups claimed a huge influx of converts in the United States and Europe.

V      While millions of Catholics are limiting themselves to one- or two-child families, Islamic societies are rapidly increasing in numbers.   For example, the average Palestinian Muslim family has 5.6 children.

V      If current trends continue, by 2050 Muslims will comprise 30% of the world’s population, with Christians (Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant) making up 25%.

SEPTEMBER 11 was a wake-up call not just for our nation, but for Christians worldwide.  It was a vivid reminder that false beliefs can cause incalculable harm and that millions of people in the world today need Jesus Christ in their lives.

Islam is now the fastest-growing religion in the United States.

The American Muslim population is growing daily, giving Christians an unprecedented opportunity and duty to learn about Islam and to bring our Muslim neighbors to Christ.

Here is the resource you need to do just that!  Ignatius Production's Father Mitch Pacwa, S.J., and Daniel Ali, a convert to Christianity from Islam, give you in their video series Christianity and Islam an accessible, absorbing, and comprehensive introduction to Islam.  They explain to you what Islam is and what to say (and what not to say) to your Muslim neighbors when speaking with them about Christ.  Even  better,  Fr. Mitch Pacwa  and  Daniel Ali have carefully crafted these videos  so  that  they’re not only  informative for Christians — they’re suitable to give to Muslims in order to introduce them to Christianity.

As a convert from Islam, Daniel Ali is intimately familiar with the false notions, prejudices, and fears that prevent most Muslims from ever considering Christ.  He also knows all the common errors that Christians make when trying to speak to Muslims about the Christian Faith.  In these videos, he and Fr. Mitch Pacwa explain all these obstacles — and show you how to overcome them.

These videos are ideal for Bible Study groups, adult ed courses, and for anyone who wants to understand his Muslim neighbor and reach out to him in love.

WHAT does this Video Series include?

V      How Islam and Muslims regard Christianity and how Muslim apologists attack Christianity.

V      How to respond to such attacks and to refute both Muslim claims about the truth of Islam and Muslim charges about Christianity.

V      why it is simply better for the human spirit to be a  Christian than a Muslim,  although  that  is  not  to  say that Christians are always better people than Muslims.

V      An overview of the history of relations between Islam and the Christianity.

V      Some do’s and don’ts about how to share the Gospel with Muslims.

V      Why a Muslim who converts to Christianity faces enormous risks, including a higher-than-average potential for martyrdom, and how this, too, has its roots in the Koranic and Islamic tradition.

V      An introduction to a few noble and courageous people who, despite the risks, converted from Islam to Christianity.

V      Finally, we will examine the possibilities of making common cause with Muslims. Better men than we, with better minds, have called for an ecumenical jihad: Catholics working together with Muslims to defend life against the relentless encroachments of the worldwide culture of death.

What are the ROLES of the Presenters?

Daniel Ali

As a convert from Islam to Christianity, Daniel Ali realizes the difficulties for the average Muslim when he is approached with the Bible. Daniel has developed an approach that is two-fold:

1.    Mr. Ali uses the witness of Christ that is found in the pages of the Koran to instruct the Muslim about the person of Jesus Christ--His sinlessness, His unique role as the Messiah, and the One Who will return at the end of the world.

2.    Daniel also  uses  the  plowing  of  the  soil  (the  theology of Islam)  to  get  the Muslim  to  answer  questions  and  contradictions  that occur in the Koran.  The emphasis in Islam is on submission to Allah's Will ("blind faith") and the believer is not encouraged to reason his faith through.  In fact, it is a virtue to accept the Koran wholeheartedly, and this submission is called "faith."  To examine Islam honestly, the Muslim needs to face the implications of Koranic verses, and the Light of Christ that appears in the Koran must not remain hidden.

Fr. Mitch Pacwa, S.J.

As a World renown theologian and Old Testament scholar,  Fr. Mitch Pacwa.  S.J.  helps the  Christian audience of the videos understand the  Bible's claims about Jesus, and  chapter  and  verse references  are  provided  so  that   Muslims  can  do research  on  these claims as well.  As a seasoned teacher, Father Pacwa brings light and clarity regarding the teaching of the Christian Scriptures in this Video Series.
