Many assume that Vatican II demoted the position of the Blessed Mary in the Church.  Vatican II was not about the changing of Catholic doctrine, but the restatement of Catholic doctrine in more biblical, ecumenical, and pastoral language.  The Council's teaching about Marian doctrine and devotion, principally contained in eighth chapter of the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church (Lumen Gentium), is a treasure that has scarcely been opened in the life of most Catholics.  This talk attempts to open up that treasure and provide practical tips on promoting a Marian piety that can really impact people's daily lives.
