12 February, 2016Blessed Columba Marmion was born Joseph Aloysius Marmion on April 1, 1858 in Dublin Ireland, into a large Catholic family. He became a Benedictine monk and ultimately became abbot of Maredsous Abbey in Belgium. Abbot Marmion became one of the most influential spiritual writers of the early 20th century with many of his books attaining the status of classics.
