The Spiritual Capital of Poland

While Krakow was once the capital of Poland, and currently the city of Warsaw enjoys that title, Dr. Italy argues that Częstochowa is the true spiritual capital of the country.

The famous icon of the Black Madonna in Częstochowa, referred to as Our Lady of Częstochowa, has a special significance not only to the country of Poland, but to the lives of two of its greatest saints:  St. John Paul II, and St. Maximilian Kolbe.  Speaking from the John Paul II chapel at Jasna Gora Monastery, the home of the icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa, Dr. Italy explains the important connection.

This video was recorded during the special Poland pilgrimage, August 2026, celebrating the life of St. Maximilian Kolbe and the film depicting his heroic last days, Triumph of the Heart.
