Anthony D’Ambrosio left seminary in 2010 to seek a more creative way to bring the Gospel into contact with post-Christian culture. After spending five years growing one of the most successful youth ministries in the country, Anthony’s life was disrupted by a mysterious illness caused his life and faith to come crashing down. In the midst of profound darkness, he discovered St. Maximilian Kolbe through whom God worked to restore Anthony’s life and rebuild his faith. The film on St. Maximilan’s last days, Triumph of the Heart, emerged from Anthony’s own wrestling with God in the crucible of suffering. Written and directed by Anthony, the film is being brought to the world by Sherwood Fellows, the creative agency co-founded by Anthony and his twin brother, Marcellino, and in collaboration with Crossroads Productions, co-founded by Dr. Italy, Anthony’s father. A poet and story-teller, Anthony is also a warrior who ran a boxing-club in seminary. Some of his favorite things also include simmering a pot of homemade Italian tomato sauce and keeping houseplants alive.
