Proclus , St.

St. Proclus, patriarch of Constantinople in the mid-5th century, is an Early Church Father, not to be confused with the pagan Neo-Platonic philosopher by the same name that lived in Constantinople during the same era. St. Proclus is best known for his defense of Mary as Theotokos or Mother of God against those who objected to that title, notably his predecessor, Patriarch Nestorius. Biography by Dr. Italy
