Why Did Jesus Need to be Baptized – Video

In this excerpt from a popular video Bible study, Dr. Italy and Jeff Cavins discuss the paradox of why the sinless Jesus of Nazareth had to be baptized by John the Baptist.

The baptism of John was a baptism of repentance from sin.  Christian baptism is also associated with forgiveness of original sin.

But Jesus presented himself at the Jordan River and requested to be baptized by his cousin John.  Why did he do this since he had no sin – original or personal?
