12 February, 20167 minute podcast describing the Jordan River by Dr. Italy who has visited numerous times the site where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.
Everyone has heard of the river Jordan, where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. But few know much about it or can visualize it.
Dr. Italy has taught on the banks of the Jordan upwards of thirty times over the past twenty years. Here he paints a visual picture of the Jordan emerging in far North Israel from the base of the snow-capped Mt. Hermon, and flowing downhill to the Sea of Galilee at the location of the ancient town of Bethsaida and just a short distance from Capernaum.
Few realize that the Sea of Galilee is largely water from the Jordan, or that the Jordan continues its downhill journey to the South of the Sea of Galilee, continuing to Jericho and then finally dumping into the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the face of the earth.

Dr. Italy always leads his pilgrims to the banks of the Jordan where they remember John the Baptist, the baptism of Jesus, and where they too, in this sacred spot, renew their own baptismal promises.
The Jordan River is also featured prominently in the dynamic 10 part video Bible Study, filmed in the Holy Land, called Jesus, the Way the Truth and the Life, featuring Marcellino D’Ambrosio (“Dr. Italy”) and friends and fellow bible teachers Jeff Cavins and Dr. Edward Sri.
Dr. Italy appears weekly on the Sonrise Morning show, a production of Sacred Heart Radio. You can listen to this show broadcast live Monday through Friday via the EWTN Global Catholic Radio, a network of over 120 local affiliate stations in the US.
